PermaRez® Case Story
Delavan Spray Technologies has been one of the world’s largest manufactures of spray nozzles for combustion in both domestic and commercial applications for over 60 years.
The secondary containment area for the nozzle dipping machine became severely eroded after years of constant chemical exposure.
The PermaRez® Reinforced Lining exceeded the chemical resistance requirement, and also strengthened the weakened substrate lengthening the life of the area.
PolySpec/Thiokol continues to improve the THIOKOL® product line to include coatings that are resistant to even more aggressive chemicals. These chemical resistant coatings offer long-term protection from intermittent and continuous exposures to acids, caustics, solvents and fuels.
THIOKOL® Case Story
Project for Harrison County Development Commission. The splash zone is defined as the area between the year’s lowest tidal mark and up to ten feet above the year’s highest tidal mark. It is extremely difficult to protect steel structures against corrosion in this zone where corrosion rates have been documented to exceed 30 mils per year on unprotected steel. Coatings must cure fast due to the short time between high and low tides, cure underwater if necessary, be effective over marginally prepared steel and be tough enough to inhibit damage caused by trash in water or impact from dock vessels.
